Grandma & Grandpa Bryner Came to Visit!

This past week, we were lucky to have the Bryners stay with us. Logan was in heaven the entire time! He couldn't get enough of his grandparents or their apples for that matter! They brought us a bunch of freshly picked apples from their house (delicious) and Brent offered an apple to Logi to play with and that fast his apple addicition began! He didn't just play with the apple or eat it after it was cut into pieces...he insisted on eating the apple whole!
Knowing what a choking hazard this could be, we peeled the smallest apple in the bunch and let Logan have his way with it...gnawing, chewing, and sucking the apple nearly down to the core! He loved it and could not stop talking about it!
Everytime Brent would come in the room, Logi would say, "apple, apple" over and over! Besides talking about balls, apples are now his second favorite subject:) After the Bryners left, Logi wandered aimlessly around the house saying, "apple, apple" while looking for his grandparents...it took him a little while to realize that they were gone:(

Besides eating apples, we did a lot of fun things like: going to the park, chased ducks (mainly Logan), went out to eat, hiking, visited a ghost town, watched 3 movies, went to Clark & Lindsay's house for dinner, and just enjoyed being with eachother.
We also made many tasty gluten free treats and ate "Dinner in a Pumpkin" one night! It is always sad to see them go, but we are looking forward to seeing them this Thanksgiving!
Thanks for visiting us and thank you again for the early b-day present! We love you!

Disneyland!!!

Since last year, my nephew Wade (4 years old) has been begging and counting on us to come with him and his family, of course, to Disneyland this year. A promise is a promise and we stuck to it and we are happy that we did. It is about a 5 & 1/2 hour drive to Anaheim from our house so we were able to make it a weekend trip. We left Friday morning, spent all day (10am to 10:30 pm) at Disneyland on Saturday, then came home Sunday afternoon.

Disneyland was covered head to toe in Halloween decor and they even changed and I mean CHANGED the Haunted House to a "Nightmare Before Christmas" theme, which is one of my favorite movies so I loved it! We weren't sure how Logan was going to react to the whole thing, but he actually LOVED the rides and would cry in line if we had to wait too long (that part wasn't fun)! He caught a few little naps throughout the day was quite the trooper!

Unfortunately, we weren't the only ones with the idea to head to Disneyland over Harvest Break...the place was packed!!! I have never seen it busier and I have been there many, many times...it was crazy! Thank goodness for strollers...they make a great pathway especially following Jen's gigantic double wide stroller with 3 screaming kids on it:) We all had a great time and it is a tradition we would like to keep except maybe go at a more off-peak time:)

Logan's Got This Walking Thing Down

Over the past few weeks Logan has been figuring out how to walk. Here's a little video that shows his progress:

It may be a few more weeks before he'll be running, but we aren't looking forward to that time anyway:)

It's A...

BOY!!! That's right, we are having another little boy! Sorry dad, I know that you were convinced that I was having a little red-headed girl named Chloe, but the boys seem to be dominating for the Rasmussen girls so far:) We couldn't be happier and the doctor went through all of his measurements and everything looks just as it should. Logan doesn't really understand yet, but he is going to love his new little playmate:)

Another Fun Visit From Ampa and Paula!

A few weeks ago, my dad and Paula came to town to visit and for Paula to get some dental work done by Matt. This visit was extra special because my dad didn't work the entire time! We did the usual things: Peter Piper, the park, Wade's soccer game, and we celebrated Paula's Birthday! It was a lot of fun and the boys LOVE it when they come to visit! We love you guys:)
The "bestest" Ampa ever!
The boys love Paula:)
What a nice new smile...great job Matt:)

Cute Pictures From the Past Week

Look at what we picked up at Wal-Mart! He felt like such a big boy:)
On Labor Day, we went to The Cheesecake Factory and then to the mall park so that Logan could burn off some energy!
This was right after a big kid (way bigger than the allowed height for the play area) stepped on our little guy. He survived, but was a little cautious/sensitive the rest of the time.
Yup, still crawling, but he has been taking quite a few steps on his own lately. He should be walking soon...we think:)
Isn't Logi's cousin, Seth, the cutest little surfer dude?
Logan was exhausted after Seth left and needed some much needed duck time:)
"Are you talkin' to me?" Such a silly guy:)

Logan Loves...

HIS DUCK

This blow-up duck is actually a bathtub that we used when Logan was younger. Since he grew out of it, we left it out for Logan to play with and it hasn't been since recently that he has truly started to love it. He drags it off of the coffee table, around the couch, and places it right in the middle of the living room and plops in head first.
He loves to give the duck kisses/bites, sit in it while he watches his favorite show, and he especially loves it when daddy drags him around in it until he spills out laughing hysterically! Logan and the duck make a good team:)
HIS AND HIS COUSINS' SIPPY CUPS

Luckily, Logan has made a smooth transition from the bottle to 100% sippy cup. He really loves his sippy cups when he is at home, but he especially LOVES his cousins' sippy cups. Whenever we are with Wade and Seth, Logan's number one goal is to find their sippy cups and start drinking away! Wade has become very good at sharing so he doesn't mind, but Seth is a different story. The sippy cup (especially the Spiderman sippy cup) is a never ending battle between Logan and Seth and you can probably guess who usually wins. However, Seth might not win for long considering the rate that Logan is growing:) Sorry Jen for the germ swapping and sippy cup battle every time we come over:)

TO CRAWL
We wonder if he is ever going to learn how to walk because he is such a fast little crawler! I know it will happen when he is ready, but for now he LOVES to vroom around the house on his knees chasing balls, pushing trucks, and finding out new things to get into and ravage!

HIS TRUCKS
This face has trouble written all over it! Logan is all boy through and through. He loves nothing more than to push a truck around the house and drive it all over the furniture to see what he can tip over with it. He also is starting to make a little "vrooming" noise as he drives his trucks, which usually leaves a trail of drool behind him:)

TO PLAY IN PILLOWS

Everyday, he rips all of the pillows off of the couches and chair and rolls around in them. He loves to nuzzle into the pillows, make pillow piles to climb over, and just cuddle with them when he takes a break from playing. Logan is a very cuddly boy, which his mommy and daddy LOVE:)

THE FRIDGE
Every time I open the fridge without a doubt, Logan stops dead in his tracks and bolts to the opened fridge. He loves to pull things off of the shelves, especially soda cans so that he can roll them around. The other day, while I was making lunch, which requires pulling a lot of stuff out of the fridge, Logan managed to pull out another soda can. When I took the can from him, he did the usual "goo, goo, goos" (his way of telling me he is mad and that he wants that can!) then I put the can on the counter out of reach. When I looked down at him he was standing reaching for the can and he actually took two steps on his own towards the counter! Yes, his first steps!!! It was exciting:)

HIS BLANKIESLogan has two special blankies that play two separate roles. The green blanket is his special "going to bed blankie" and the blue one is his special "playing in the living room and church blankie". He loves them both equally and can never get enough of cuddling up in their soft fur:)

FRUIT AND CATALINA
Logan has been getting better and better at eating finger foods especially now that we have figured out some foods that he really loves. He pretty much loves any and all types of fruit, which is great, but makes feeding him veggies difficult. Luckily we discovered his love for Catalina dressing! He will eat most veggies and things like beans, quesadillas as long as they are doused in Catalina! Whatever works, right?

THE WIGGLES
Four men singing and dancing, need I say more?:)
