Our Little Daners Finally Got Tubes!!!

October 13th was a long awaited day because it was the day that Dane got tubes in his ears! As I have talked about before, Dane has had many ear infections in his little life and I am hoping that the tubes will be the end of it!

We arrived at Mercy Gilbert Hospital at about 6am in the morning and Dane was fortunately in good spirits, considering that he doesn't usually wake up until around 7am. He was cheesing it up with all of the nurses and having a grand old time getting pulled around in the wagon, pushing his stroller, playing with his car, and playing in the crib.

Then it came time for the nurse to take him back to the operating room and Dane did not like this at all! The "Banshee Scream" was unleashed all the way down the hall...it broke may heart, but at the same time I was so happy that the surgery was finally happening! We went to the waiting room and literally 10 minutes later Dr. Mostafavi came out and told us that the surgery was over and that everything went very well.

Then we went back to see him in the recovery room and he was ballistic!!! I guess, it is a normal reaction that babies have when they come out of anesthesia, but he was like nothing I had seen before! Completely inconsolable, flailing, screaming, and arching his back. The poor nurses looked absolutely panicked! Ben and I did everything we could to soothe him and after about 5 minutes or so he calmed down...thankfully! The poor little guy had bloody ears and I could tell that he didn't feel well. So, we hurried home and put him to bed. Here he is in the car after the surgery (these pictures make me sad):

After his nap, he seemed to be doing much better. However, he has been going through some GI issues (on and off constipation) for sometime now and we are really suspicious that he may have Celiac Disease. So it seems like one aliment after the other with this little guy, but we are seeing a Gastroenterologist November 3rd so hopefully we will get him feeling 100% better soon.  We love our little Daners so much and will do everything we can to make sure that he is healthy and happy!

Disneyland October 2010

A couple of weeks ago, Ben had a meeting in Irvine, CA so we decided to make a Disneyland trip of it! The Ropers were also planning on going the same weekend, so we all spent two days bouncing back and forth from Disneyland and California Adventure Land. It was a lot of fun, but very exhausting! Here are some pics from our trip:

Baby Boy #3!!!

Yes, that is right, we are having another sweet little boy! I thought that it possibly could have been a girl because this pregnancy has been so different, but the ultrasound pictures do not lie! We truly are so happy to be having another boy...we love boys!

I went to Stork Vision to find out the sex of this little guy because the ultrasound with my OB is not until October 13th which is the same day that Dane is scheduled to get tubes (finally!). It is going to be a busy day and I wanted to make sure that Ben could be there with me so we decided to do it early and Julie came too. It was a lot of fun! As soon as that ultrasound wand thing touched my belly, I immediately knew it was a boy and called him a little stinker right away:) I am so happy that he looks healthy and happy in there...can't wait for him to arrive this March!!!
