Tis the Season!

Black Friday movie time! Waiting in an enormous Disneyland ride type of line in a huge empty building (what used to be the food court at the mall next to the movie theater) to see Frozen. Why did we do this again??? It was total chaos especially with they 10 little stinkers, but the movie was worth the wait! We all loved it!!!

That night, me, Jen, and Ju broke away for some Black Friday shopping. We made the mistake of going to Old Navy. Everything was 50% off, which was awesome, but everyone and their dog was there!!! We waited 3 hours to checkout! Nothing is worth that kind of wait! Oh well, we had fun together and got home around 1:30am:)
This year, we started a tradition of adopting a family through a foundation of Phoenix Children's hospital and providing Christmas for them. The family of 8 has a son with cancer, which made this experience that much more meaningful for us.
Us and the Ropers adopted the family together. Since it was really important to us to get our kids involved in the spirit of giving, we all headed to Walmart to buy for this family together.
The kids had a bawl scrambling around Walmart shopping for a family who were really in need.
I was pleasantly surprised with how into they were! We split up in groups and took care of business!
This is definitely a tradition we will continue for years to come. These are the kind of things I want my kids to look forward to every Christmas season. Here is most of our loot! Seriously such an amazing and rewarding experience!
After our Christmas shopping, we ate at Cafe Rio and then headed to the Mesa Temple to see lights. Love this family tradition so much too!!!

 Reidy Roo's first temple trip!
The kids had a blast! Such a fun day!
He's baaack!!! It must be December 1st again because our Elf on the Shelf (Chris) doorbell ditched us then flew in and gave us this friendly note:)

The kids were soooo excited to see Chris the Elf return!!!

The boys' Christmas lists were promptly made after we read the book. The boys asked Chris to give their lists to Santa for them:)
Later that day, the boys got a wild hair and decided to throw toys at Chris until he fell to the ground!!! Dad rescued Chris and that night he flew back to the North Pole and threatened to never come back to such naughty boys! Chris did tell dad that Santa would allow Chris to come back if the boys apologized to Santa and Chris;) Here is their apology:)
The next day, Chris returned!!! The boys were ecstatic and promised they would never touch or throw things at Chris again!

They loved this spot...especially Beau!!! Such a fun time of year!
