What's Been Going On

Logan:
I cannot believe that he will be 2 in 2 months!!! He is such a big boy and full of so much life! He's a little chatter box and it amazes me the things that he is able to say. He is obsessed with cars. He loves the movie "Cars" and always has a "Hot Wheel" in each of his little hands! He could play with his cars for hours (no complaints here) and never get sick of them! He also, is really starting to love to watch movies, which makes me excited for summer movies at the theater every Thursday morning for the next few months. It is a great way to get the kids out and avoid the heat. Logan is still free and my price was $7 for 10 kid friendly movies...you can't beat that! The theater is full of moms and screaming kids so there is no stress like going to a regular movie. Anyway, that starts the end of this month and I think Logi is going to love it!He also LOVES to play with his cousins even though it can be a love/hate relationship sometimes:)
Above all of Logan's favorites right now, nothing trumps his little brother "D"! He is really starting to become protective of him and just loves to help take care of his "D". At church last Sunday, a family asked if they could hold Dane and as soon as Logan realized that Dane was gone he started yelling "Where's my "D"?" (during sacrament, mind you) and started frantically running around looking for him repeating "My "D"" the entire time! Luckily, the family was sitting close by and Logan was so relieved and ecstatic to find "his "D"":) They already have such a special little bond and I am loving watching their little friendship develop:)

Dane:
My little smiley boy is now 3 months and is growing and changing so much every day! He has amazing hand coordination (at least, in my opinion) and is very grabby! He also is batting at toys while sitting in his chair and really starting to take an interest in toys.He also is getting really close to rolling over, but absolutely despises "tummy time" which is probably why he is almost able to flip himself over just out of sheer anger! He is now able to hold his head up really well and can even sit in his "Bumbo"!
He has been chewing on his hands a lot and drooling up a storm...possibly teething or feeding issues...I'm not sure? He has been having a hard time nursing lately. He seems to be on a nursing strike so I have been trying to figure out what is going on, but not with much luck. I may have to wean him soon, but I am going to keep trying for now even though it has been pretty challenging. Other than that, things have been going very smoothly and he just adores his big brother!

My Baby Sis is Having a Baby Boy!!!

I can't believe that my little sister is going to have a baby! She still seems too little to me, but she is 23 and all grown up:) Today she found out she is having a little boy...what else would a Rasmussen girl have?!? She is 22 weeks along and her little guy is due September 13th. We are so thrilled for her and Johnny and can't wait to welcome another sweet little boy into our family:) Congrats Ju and John! We love you!

2 Month Appointment

Even though Dane is almost 3 months, I wanted to post his last stats, which probably have changed a lot by now:) Better late than never, right?

  • Weight: 11 lbs. 7 oz. (40%)

  • Length: 23 inches (52%)

  • Head: 16 inches (27%)

His stats do not do him any justice because he is growing like a little weed and starting to get chunky and big so fast! It makes me sad how fast he is growing, but I am trying to relish every moment. He is still eating and sleeping really well and he is such a smiley little guy:) His big grins and smiley eyes make my heart melt. He also is cooing and giggling quite a bit especially when we change his diaper (his favorite activity experienced many times during the day).He is very cuddly and loves to have his blankie nuzzled up against his face before he goes to sleep. He is such a happy, sweet baby and it has been so much fun getting to know our little guy!

Here is his official birth announcement:

It didn't scan in very well and looks pixelated from me cropping it, but you get the idea:)

Easter

Life with two little boys is so much busier than I could have ever imagined, so please forgive me for being so bad at updating. Anyway, the week before Easter we had Ben's mom and sister, Katie, visit us. They split their time staying between our house and Clark's (Ben's brother) house. We did a lot of fun things and really enjoyed their visit. Here are some pics from their stay:
Coloring eggs with Katie and GrandmaWe went to the annual Easter Pageant at the Mesa TempleTook a trip to the Phoenix Zoo
Went to a neighborhood Easter Egg HuntEaster morning, Logan loved his basket especially the little Hot Wheels cars from the Easter bunny:) He also loved looking for eggs around the house!

I came down with a really bad case of stomach flu so just Ben and Logan went to church Easter Sunday. Here's Logan in his Easter outfit and it is close to impossible to get a good picture of him these days:)Logan likes Dane's toys more than he does:)All in all, it was a wonderful Easter and we really enjoyed having Katie and Annette visit! We love you guys!

Birth Announcement Photo Shoot

A few weeks ago, a friend offered to take Dane's picture for his birth announcement. She is not a professional photographer, she does it just for fun and always likes an opportunity to practice her skills. She did a fabulous job! Too bad Logan wasn't really wanting to cooperate, but she still got a few good shots of the boys together. His announcement should be out soon...hopefully:)
