Fall Fun

Silly Boys!

 Logan's 4th Season of Soccer

Frequently, I catch them sleeping in each other's beds.
They love to be together.
Such cute, little best friends:)
Beau's First Time Swinging! He Loved It!
Finally, it is starting to cool off in the evenings.
Great time to play on the swing set!
We had a short cool spell that was sooo nice! It was in the 70's (low 60's in the night and mornings) for about 4 days straight! It was so exciting to pull out the jackets and long sleeves!
Unfortunately, we're back in the upper 90's...ugh:)

11 Shots = 3 Grumpy Boys

Here is the before shot where they are happy as can be in the pediatrician's waiting room. Eleven shots later (6 for Logan, 5 for Beau, and 1 for Dane) those smiles turned upside down:) For being so "brave" they each got a little surprise from Target that got them smiling again. I don't blame them for not liking shots, I HATE shots! So I could feel their pain almost literally. Here is how the visit went:

Beau's 6 month Well Check:

  • Weight: 17 lbs (47%)
  • Height: 26 in (21%)
  • Head: 17 in (64%)
  • 5 vaccines (DTap, Hib, Prevnar, Rotavirus (drink), Flu)
  • Beau is sitting up, rolling over, eating baby foods, bearing weight on his legs, has 2 teeth, and loves to interact and babble! Such a little sweetheart!
Dane's Sick Visit: He was just going to get his Flu shot, but woke up sickish so I wasn't sure if they would still give it to him. Luckily, he had no fever so he got the shot. It is nice to get them all done at once, however, it makes for a VERY chaotic appointment!
  • Weight: 29 lbs
  • Coughing all night, runny nose, no fever (had a low grade the night before)...super ornery!
  • Continue twice a day albuterol treatments and Benadryl at night
  • 1 vaccine (Flu). He kept saying, "I'm scared" before getting his shot and he almost hit the nurse as she gave it to him. He was having a rough day...poor little guy:( He also is my most sickly kid. Unfortunately, he has inherited my asthma and every time he gets a little sniffle, his lungs flare up. But his ears are great since he got the tubes put in!
Logan's 4 year Well Check:
  • Weight: 39 lbs (73%)
  • Height: 43 in (91%)
  • BMI: 15 (28%)
  • 6 vaccine (DTap, IPV, MMR, Varicella, Prevnar-13, Flu). He was so brave with the ones in the legs, but started crying with the ones in the arms. It broke my heart:(
  • Logan did very well with his vision and hearing test and answered all of the doctor's questions correctly. She asked him if he always wears a helmet when he rides his bike, swims with parental supervision, always sits in a booster/car seat in the car, and other questions like that. I thought it was kind of sneaky to ask the child these questions, but a great way to find out the truth! Good thing we passed...phew:) The rest of his physical exam went very well and he is a healthy, happy little boy!
All in all, my 3 little guys are doing very well and I couldn't feel more blessed to be their mommy! I love my boys so much!

Mommy & Beau's Trip to Utah

Last week, Beau and I took a quick trip to UT to visit family and friends. We flew, which I was excited about  avoiding the 12+ hour drive, but was pretty nervous about flying with a 6 month old. True to his sweet little character, Beau was amazing on the flight! He cheesed it up with all of the passengers around us and then took a nap and before we knew it we were there! I, on the other hand, was sweating bullets the entire time in anticipation for the worst (Beau screaming the entire way), but was pleasantly surprised. He truly is such a dream baby! From delivery to present:)

This trip, we stayed with Julie and Jax. It was so fun to spend some much needed quality time with them! We spent a lot of time hanging out, eating, taking Zumba classes (Ju is a Zumba instructor now at many gyms in the SLC area...she is amazing at it...soooo fun!), playing with our babies, hanging out with dad, and celebrating Jax's 2nd birthday twice!

He had his "friend" party at Chuck-E-Cheeses, which was a lot of fun! He especially liked licking the frosting off of his cupcakes and playing Skeeball.

He did NOT like this Monster Truck ride at all and was begging to get off:)
He got a lot of great present and had a blast at his par-tay!

After Jax's party, Beau and I went to Alana's baby shower. It was at Suzy's parents' house and Suz and Nat  hosted the party. They did such a fabulous job and it was so good to see my girlfriends that I have known since elementary school! I miss them sooo much! Alana is the cutest prego I have ever seen and she actually had her baby 11 days early (9/15/11)! They had the shower just in the nick of time because baby Clark was very eager to come and join the fun! I am so happy for Alana and I know she is going to be the best mom!

Shower pictures coming soon:)

Lastly, we had Jax's family party at dad's house. The party was also combined with Paula who's birthday is September 12th as well. Grandma and Grandpa Rasmussen, Jessica Jean, and Kia all came to celebrate! My dad made his famous "loaf" (meat loaf) and my Grandma brought the cakes (one for Jax and one for Paula). We had a lot of fun eating and spending time together.

Jax had a great birthday and it was a lot of fun to be there to celebrate it!
Beau and I had a great trip home and thankfully there were no terrorist attacks (it was 9/11);)
It was a fun trip and really makes me miss living in good old UT.
