We stayed at the Marriott in Del Mar, which turned out to be a fabulous Priceline.com deal! It was very nice and was in a great location, just about 15 minutes away from Mission Beach. Logan adored the beach and could not get enough of running around and chasing the waves! We all enjoyed the beach and would like to spend more time there next time.
After the beach, we met up with the Ropers for Logan's birthday dinner at Phil's BBQ, which was super delicious! Logan is quite the little carnivore:) The servers sang "Happy Birthday" to him and he kept looking at Ben and I saying, "are they singing to me?"...he was so excited and clapped along. Then he was finally able to dig into his "Apple Cakes" (his way of saying Happy Birthday Cake...we think?), which he had been talking about for days! He got some great presents from the Ropers: "Curious George" the movie and a "Lightening McQueen" car, which he absolutely LOVES...thanks guys:) His birthday dinner turned out wonderfully and Logan had a ball with his cousins.
The next day, which was Logans's actual birthday (July 11th), we went to SeaWorld with the Ropers. Logan thought that the Shamu Show was probably the coolest hing he had ever seen in his life! Watching him cheer and clap throughout the show was priceless. He also loved the Elmo play area and touching (well, playing in the water) the sting rays. Other than a few rides, Logan seemed to still be too young for a lot of things so we probably won't go back until the boys are older. However, we still had a good time.
The rest of the trip was spent eating at delicious restaurants: one in Old Town San Diego (Casa Guadalajara) for dinner and breakfast at another great find in Del Mar (Champagne Bistro) before we left town. We had a fun trip and can't wait to go back and we CANNOT believe that our little guy is already 2! It seems like yesterday he was born:) We love him so much! HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOGAN!!!
