Logan & Dane's First Time Skiing

Ben was SO excited to finally share his love of skiing with his boys at his all time favorite place to ski...Beaver Mountain!!!
Annette and Brent were so very kind to watch Beau and Reid so we could take our two older boys. Uncle John and Tom joined us too!
Getting all suited up! Sheesh...quite the process, but well worth it! Benny has been dreaming about this day his whole life! Skiing as a family will definitely be one of our favorite family pastimes...Benny will be sure of it!
The boys were very excited to start their ski lessons

The boys loved their ski instructor and he actually was one of Uncle Tom's friends!

We spied on them from afar for a few minutes. Benny was so giddy watching them! We were, however, excited to hit the slopes with just adults for a bit.

and...they're off!

This was only my third time skiing as an adult. We used to go to ski school at Snowbird every winter until I was 8 years old. We stopped going once I fell off the ski lift and landed on my face and was tobogganed down the hill (just a goose bump and bloody nose...no biggie;)). After that incident, my mom forbade us to go skiing with our dad anymore:( Skiing brings back a lot of nostalgic feelings from my childhood...feelings of doing something fun with my dad and sisters, the beauty of UT and the mountains, and memories of my mom and our life when she was alive. For me skiing equals happy feelings. For Ben, skiing equals his all time favorite thing in life to do!!! His passion began in high school and was multiplied 10 fold when he ditched college almost daily to ski the Beav! He would work all summer selling Living Scriptures to fund his schooling and his skiing addiction! Some of his fondest college memories were made there on that mountain. Nostalgia was definitely what he was feeling as we rode up on our first lift of the day.
Tom is definitely getting the ski bug like his brother:)
We spied on the boys during their lesson on the Magic Carpet. Logi was rocking it, but Dane was pretty discouraged and spent a lot of time on his bum:(
Good job Logi!
Poor Daners:(
He started to completely give up and was more interested in hiking up to this random swing set!

After a lot of encouragement, we were able to coax Dane away from the swing set and back into his skis;)

Logan was loving it!

Dane on the other hand...not so much;)

Wipe out!
Good thing daddy was there to catch him

Benny is loving every minute of this:)

A couple short hours later, now it is daddy's turn to teach.
Uncle John was helping Log tighten up his new found skills
Woohoo! Go Daners!!!
This is when he started to love it!!!

We were so proud of Logan and Dane!
They both had some spills, but they didn't give up. We did a few runs with the boys on the big lift and they did great! When Dane would fall down, he would scream and cry and hate it. But, when he was sailing down the hill, he was squealing with glee and pageant waving and saying hi to all passerbyers;) He is such a little goofball! Logan really only fell about 3 times and really got the hang of it. They both left loving it and couldn't wait to go skiing again! Yes! Music to their daddy's ears!
Meanwhile, back at G & G's house, Beau was happy to be reunited with his fave Uncle John:)
...and Reid has the cutest diaper/plummer's crack ever;)
We missed our two babies, but they were definitely in good hands! Thanks again Annette and Brent and other fam for watching them!
